EEEk! Etsy is down

OK so it's saturday and I'm all set to post some new stuff and alas.....Etsy is having technical difficulties. Ten minutes and I'm already suffering withdrawl symptoms... Boy, I have got it bad. I'm such a big fan of the site (can you tell?). So I guess I will post my new stuff here first!!! This is the Agni capelet. Agni means "fire" oh yeah, this color is hot this spring. I love orange. The flower is yellow at the suggestion of my good pal Heather (excellent choice girlfriend!) . I also made a flower with some pretty designer fabric that I had in my fabric stash. And I used a super funky vintage button. I'm liken it. So check out the shop if you want to see more pics. I also finished a felted bag. These are far and too few inbetween. They just take so long to make. I machine sew the lining and then hand sew it into the bag. I used to machine sew it into the bag but that leaves a stitch mark on the outside of the bag and I don't like the way it looks. I'm not completely sure on a name for it yet, but here is a pic...It came out cute, and I love this gingham fabric in pretty purple. I'm working at the stash!!! The flower yarn was also from my yarn stash, some Lopi that has been in there for awhile!!!!

Vintage goodies

Mom and I went shopping in Point Pleasant a couple of saturday's ago. We had a great lunch and then hit up some of the many antique stores. I love antique stores, and my main goal was to find an antique dressmaker mannequin. I found several, but all were being used as displays and no one was selling. What I did find was this super groovy '70's sewing box with all the goodies tucked inside. It was just sitting there...waiting for me to find it!!!! What a find I tell you! Anytime I find vintage buttons, brooches, or any kind of sewing notions I consider it a successful shopping venture. So I will probably use some of this awesome stuff for the etsy creations. I finished another capelet today. I am calling it the blissful capelet. I made it navy blue. I am a big fan of blue. ~~As you can see in some of these pics~the guest room is a pretty shade of periwinkle~ So back to the capelet... It came out super pretty---gonna have to make myself one :)
So here is pic and I will include link to shop, if you would like to see some additional photos... http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=9406208

Serenity now

Serenity is good, peace is good, great in fact. My latest creation...The serenity capelet. My inspiration was while flipping through the pages of this months Vogue, I happened upon this gorgeous blouse by Vera Wang (not the line you would find in Kohl's). I fell in LOVE with the colors and the idea of pretty leaves in charcoal. So.... I present the Serenity capelet. Available at www.happiknits.etsy.com Lots of new stuff on there this week. It has been slow, but, I think everyone on there is feeling it. I also want to mention my girls over at www.etsynj.blogspot.com check out all the talent we have in NJ!!!!!! More later, oh, one more thing...GO GIANTS!!!!!!!
